I grew up reading books. I thought commercials were more interesting than television unless Star Trek: The Next Generation was on. I went to Florida State University to study writing and rhetoric and didn't figure out until Fiction 3 it was all nonsense and plap. (Whereupon I spent all my scholarship money on history classes.)

The keen English students who legitimately excel at language by happenstance assume the vague nature of the degree and their articulate communications mean they can avoid signing their lives away to Journalism and find an array of unrelated and interesting jobs upon graduating. Not true. Thankfully I plopped, by happenstance, into copywriting for a design studio and gained useful experience.

Copy, technical, and other-purpose writing works for me because I always liked essays and ads. And I enjoy writing propaganda. Benevolent propaganda.

Nonetheless, I've been moving away from copywriting to work on Anything Else. Of course, I still take copywriting jobs on the condition the product or service benefits the human species, (or simply does no harm). Or if you're my friend. Although I'm not sure how we'd be friends if you're in the business of raising yourself at the expense of Life on Earth.

I haven't posted to the "blog" regularly because I'm still figuring out what I want it to be; other than a storage closet for purposeless practice writings. The posts are interesting enough, to me, to store somewhere, yet inane enough to get no notice. At once comforting and horrifying.

I intend in future to write for whatever page or screen I can take a check from without hating myself, and travel on someone else's dime.

Services

I write web and print copy, press releases, articles on any topic, blog posts, dialog/scripts, and anything else you can dream up.

My portfolio shows the copy I wrote for agencies I've worked with, but I also take direct projects without an agency in the middle. Feel free to contact me for more information, samples, links, or a quote.

I will not write school papers. Sorry kids, you need to do your own work. If you need an editor, I give student discounts.
